BeerFest 2022: Pee-Wee’s Beer Adventure

TICKETS ARE GOING FAST!

Beer fan? I know you are, but what am I? Over the past decade, Tampa Theatre’s signature summer fundraiser, BeerFest, has raised more than $100,000 for the nonprofit movie palace with events like Barley’s Angels, The Big Lebrewski and 2020’s virtual Groundhop Day.

This year, the majestic movie palace (which does actually have a basement) invites you to hop on your Schwinn and join us on Pee-Wee’s Beer Adventure from 7:00-10:00pm Saturday, July 30, with an evening of craft beers and local brewers, plus snacks and samples from some of the city’s top independent restaurants. (When you arrive, be sure and tell the ticket taker that Large Marge sent you.)

T-shirts:
BeerFest is back in person and that means there’s a new t-shirt! Too late to put together a costume? Just want a collectible to remember the evening by? Click this link to fill out a pre-order form for a BeerFest t-shirt now! If you order by Thursday 7/28, you can pick up your shirt on the night of the event! Otherwise you can come by the Box Office after the event. And if your Simone the waitress outfit never comes together, have no fear. T-shirts will of course be sold during the event as well!

BeerFest guests are invited to don their too-small suits and red bowties, dress as their favorite Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure character, or come in a costume inspired by the movie. Bring a whole group or come by yourself: loners and rebels are welcome, but they must be 21 or older to attend and valid Government-issued ID is required for entry.

Like previous beer-infused, tongue-in-cheek BeerFest events, Pee-Wee’s Beer Adventure is chaired by one of Tampa Theatre’s favorite ride-or-dies, Veronica Danko, owner of The Independent Bar and Cafe. And though the theme may be silly, BeerFest’s purpose is most serious: Now in its 10th year, the (almost) annual event benefits the Theatre’s artistic, educational and community programs, as well as the ongoing preservation of the 95-year-old historic landmark.

A limited-capacity premium sampling begins at 7:00 p.m., and advance-sale tickets are $75 / $65 for Tampa Theatre Members. Grand sampling ticket-holders can enter at 8:00 p.m., and advance-sale tickets are $55 / $45 for Members at the Tampa Theatre Box Office or online (convenience fees apply). Prices will increase the day-of, but… every BeerFest we know has a big but. Let’s talk about this big but: BUT, the event is going to sell out. Get your tickets early!
