Since 1926, Tampa Theatre has been recognized for presenting a one-of-a-kind film experience: In the early days, live musicians orchestrated the films and Vaudevillian performers punctuated the screenings. More recently, patrons have relished the opportunity to see today’s top independent, art house and foreign films framed by the stunning architecture of a bygone era.
But the Theatre’s tradition of movies under the stars isn’t limited to the stunning faux-night sky in its Franklin Street auditorium. Over the past decade, Tampa Theatre’s Outdoor Cinema program has taken the show on the road to parks and public spaces throughout Hillsborough County, presenting classic, family-friendly films on a 40-foot inflatable screen.
