Graphicstudio’s 50th Anniversary

Join us on Thursday, October 4 for a celebration of Graphicstudio’s 50th anniversary! Learn about Graphicstudio’s distinguished history of fine art publishing since its founding at the University of South Florida in 1968. Former directors Donald Saff, Alan Eaker, and Hank Hine will join current director Margaret Miller to explore groundbreaking past projects and look to the exciting future of the studio.

Graphicstudio continues its mission as an experiment in art and education. Artists are invited from around the world to collaborate with Graphicstudio’s skilled artisans to push the boundaries of printmaking and sculpture fabrication. New techniques combined with traditional processes are developed in order to realize the ideas and vision of visiting artists, keeping the studio at the forefront of international fine art publishing.

In 1990, the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. established a Graphicstudio archive and presented a major exhibition with an accompanying catalogue documenting the history of the studio. In 2014, the Tampa Museum of Art presented a major survey exhibition, also accompanied by a significant publication that focused on works produced in the last two decades.

Collectors and leading museums worldwide continue to acquire prints and sculpture editions produced at Graphicstudio. Graphicstudio’s location on the USF Tampa campus allow students and the broader Tampa Bay community to meet leading artists of our time and observe the creative process.
