Outdoor Movies in Curtis Hixon Park

Tampa Theatre is proud to announce that, building on the success of last year’s Holiday Classics film series in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, it will return to the park for two outdoor film screenings this yuletide season, thanks to our new presenting sponsor, the F.E. Lykes Foundation.

Bringing its massive 40-foot screen and high-intensity projector back to the Great Lawn of Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Tampa Theatre will present:

  • Home Alone (1990) — 7:30pm Friday, November 16

This screening will be part of the festivities for the opening night of Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park presented by Tampa Bay Lightning, the annual holiday market and event series by Tampa Downtown Partnership.

  • The Santa Clause (1994) — 7:30pm Friday, November 30

This screening will take place after Tampa’s Tree Lighting Ceremony, presented by Friends of Tampa Recreation.

Of course, both of these screenings are FREE and open to the public. Lawn seating is first-come, first-served, so please don’t forget to bring blankets or folding lawn chairs.

Tampa Theatre wishes to thank the F. E. Lykes Foundation for their generous sponsorship, making these screenings possible. Screening films outdoors to the exacting presentational standards of Tampa Theatre is no small endeavor, and doing so for FREE would be entirely impossible without the help of the F. E. Lykes Foundation; its mission to enhance parks and public spaces made the partnership a natural fit, and the Theatre looks forward to a productive relationship for a long time to come.
