Tampa Theatre welcomes SharkCon to Tampa with a special late-night showing of JAWS!

When pieces of a missing swimmer wash ashore on Amity Island, the Mayor of the quaint Atlantic resort town demands the predator be caught before it can ruin the 4th of July tourist season. Police Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) and visiting ichthyologist Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) suspect the worst, and team up with the only local fisherman willing to take on a Great White - the salty Quint (Robert Shaw). But when the enemy finally shows itself, it turns out to be a more formidable foe than any of them had imagined.

Based on Peter Benchley's best-selling novel, Steven Spielberg's 1975 shark tale frightened millions of moviegoers out of the water and defined a new type of film phenomenon: the summer blockbuster.

Underwater videographer and special SharkCon guest Jillian Morris Brake will provide a short introduction to the film. Brake is the executive director of the Oceanicallstars conservation media group and the creator of the SHARKS4KIDS education program, and has provided video content for National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, Animal Planet, PBS, ESPN and numerous other international networks.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for Tampa Theatre Members, available at the Box Office or online ($2 convenience fee applies).
