Dates and Times

Based on the true story of Denise Austin, a keeper at Belfast Zoo during the Blitz in 1941, Zoo is the story of the “elephant angel” – played by Penelope Wilton of Downton Abbey fame – who secretly walked Buster the elephant from the zoo to her own backyard each evening, where she cared for and comforted the young elephant as the Luftwaffe bombs rained down over Belfast.

The movie is seen through the eyes of 12-year-old Tom (Art Parkinson, Game of Thrones), who is aided and abetted by his misfit friends as they take on the fight to save Buster.

This FREE community screening is presented as part of the Irish Film Festival in partnership with the Tampa Hillsborough Film and Digital Media Commission, the British Consulate-General, the Irish Film Institute, Culture Ireland, the Arts Council of Ireland, the Consulate General of Ireland, and the Northern Ireland Bureau – North America.
