PARKING

Parking Downtown near Tampa Theatre?  The City’s new and improved parking system is still free after 6pm Mon-Fri and all day Saturday and Sunday.

On-Street Parking — Mon-Fri after 6pm and all day Sat & Sun (free)

Guests may be conveniently dropped off at the Theatre’s entrance. On-street parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of Tampa Theatre are free after 6pm Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday.  You’ll see a few commercial parking lots around the theatre, but they are reserved for monthly parking.  There is also a parking lot directly in the block south of the Theatre (between Zack and Twiggs Streets) that is operated by 717 Parking Services.  Be sure to pay the attendant or at the automated pay station in this lot in advance.  There is also a parking lot next to the Theatre operated by 717 Parking Services where patrons are welcome to park for a fee if an attendant is present.

On-Street Parking — Weekdays (pay spaces)
Coming for weekday Balcony-to-Backstage Tour or other weekday event?

Guests may be conveniently dropped off at the Theatre’s entrance.  During weekdays before 6pm, most on-street parking spaces have a time limit (typically 2 hours) and the parking pay stations take change and credit cards (Visa & Mastercard only).  You’ll see a few parking lots around the theatre, but they are reserved for monthly parking.

No change?  No problem!  Parking meters have been replaced with these new numbered spaces.  Simply enter your space number and time needed at the solar-powered pay station.  Pay by cash, debit or credit and print a receipt.  And there’s nothing to post on your dashboard since the system is automated.

Have a disabled tag?  Even though you get 4 hours of free parking, you still need to enter your space number at the pay station.  You’ll see a option for disabled patrons on the parking pay station screen.

Click here for more info at the City of Tampa Parking Dept. website.

Public Parking Garage
The closest public parking garage is the Poe Garage on Ashley Street about 3 blocks away.  Click here for a map.

Parking Options for Disabled Patrons
Many disabled patrons are either dropped off at the Theatre’s entrance or are able to secure on-street parking (4 hours free to anyone possessing a handicapped parking tag) within a block of the Theatre with early arrival. Even though you get 4 hours of free parking with the disabled tag, you still need to enter your space number at the pay station.  There is also a parking lot directly next to the Theatre owned by 717 Parking             Services where patrons are welcome to park for a fee if an attendant is present.

Many lots surrounding the Theatre and throughout downtown Tampa are privately owned and it is strongly advised that patrons carefully read all posted regulations regarding these lots.
