Young Life staff and volunteers are excited to celebrate the past 40 years of making a difference in teenagers and their families’ lives.
Grammy-nominated musician Brandon Heath will return to Tampa to join the Tampa Bay Young Life 40th Anniversary Celebration.
In addition to anonymous donors underwriting the event, Heath is also donating his time and talents. He will share how Jesus changed his life at Malibu Club, a Young Life camp in coastal British Columbia, when he was a teenager. Heath, a Christian artist and two-time Dove Award winner for Male Vocalist of the Year, will perform his No. 1 hit song “I’m Not Who I Was” and other songs like “Your Love”, and “Give Me Your Eyes”. The evening will also feature Young Life humor and inspiring stories from local areas.
Young Life staff and volunteer leaders currently reach out to suburban middle and high school students in Dunedin, Seminole, St. Petersburg, South Tampa, North Tampa, New Tampa and Brandon. Young Life’s ministry to teenagers in under resourced communities in Tampa began in 1982 and currently serves middle and high school students in the University Area, Sulphur Springs and Ybor City. Young Life’s Capernaum ministry to teenagers with special needs began in Tampa in 2010 and has started this year in Pinellas County, as well.
