Renting the Theatre

Tampa Theatre’s restoration will be a $21 million investment that will transform the historic hall, its staging capabilities and the audience’s experience. Production enhancements will include new on stage rigging, new and expanded performance lighting and sound systems, a new dedicated house mix position, new HVAC systems throughout, and new dedicated production networks and digital interfaces for road shows. The auditorium’s paint and plaster will be meticulously restored and a new architectural lighting system will be integrated into the historic space. Tampa Theatre is already an award-winning historic theatre, but when we finish the work, we promise Tampa Theatre will be one of the most beautiful, efficient and capable small stages in America.

Picture your wedding day surrounded by historic splendor or presenting your next corporate meeting on the big screen. Tampa Theatre is available for rent for concerts, film screenings, meetings, presentations and other special events. The historic Theatre building fronts Franklin Street in downtown Tampa — an easy walk to several hotels and restaurants.

Tampa Theatre’s facilities include a 1,238-seat historic auditorium and lobby, and seasoned, professional staff with more than 80 years combined experience can make your event a smashing success. Rental rates vary greatly depending upon the day and time of the event, staging requirements and front-of-house considerations. And because we show films nearly every day of the year, it’s essential to discuss your rental needs with us as you begin looking at dates.

 

We are not currently taking rentals for the John T. Taylor Screening Room (microcinema); rental events can only be accommodated in the Historic Duncan Auditorium. 

Please note that Tampa Theatre is typically unavailable for afternoon and evening rentals Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as these dates are on reserve for Theatre programming. Other blackout dates are subject to Theatre programming blocks. Submission of this request form does not guarantee a rental, and request of a specific dates does not guarantee that date’s availability.
