Based on the novel by James Baldwin, If Beale Street Could Talk is the story of Tish (KiKi Layne), a newly engaged Harlem woman who races against the clock to prove her lover’s innocence while carrying their first-born child to term.

It is a celebration of love told through the story of a young couple and a powerful reflection on injustice, and the lasting impact incarceration has on individuals and families. It reminds us that when freedom is disrupted, entire families and communities feel the weight—and that dignity, advocacy, and human connection are essential to restoring hope and possibility.

Also starring Stephan James, Colman Domingo, Regina King, and Teyonah Parris.
