Static VI (2023)
Static is an independent skateboarding video series started in 1998 out of Tampa, Florida by Tampa native Josh Stewart. The series showcases underground talent and under-appreciated cities, with a specific focus on urban skateboarding in unique environments.
Over the last 24 years, Static videos have featured skateboarders from around the world and filmed on location in Tampa, London, Paris, Cairo, New Delhi and Hong Kong, to name a few, always with a focus on showcasing little-known talent and capturing the experience of being in the streets with the skateboarders in their local environments.
This 6th and final offering in the series took Stewart and his team nearly seven years to complete. So it’s a meaningful homecoming for Stewart to screen his last Static film back in Tampa where it all began, and in the same theater where he premiered his very first skateboard film way back in 1996, the Tampa Theatre.
This is a free community screening, and seating is first come, first served. Doors and bar open at 7:30pm.
