The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

1h 29m / G / Family

The Muppet Christmas Carol is a retelling of the classic Dickens tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, bitter miser and misanthrope, and his visitation by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and future who redeem him and return joy to his life. But here, the whole Victorian world of this classic story are played by the Muppets you have long known and loved: Kermit is Bob Cratchit, Miss Piggy is his wife, Gonzo is Marley and Michael Caine (not a Muppet, just an actor) plays Scrooge. There are dozens of film versions of the long-beloved Dickens story out there, but the Muppets bring this one a kind, funny, heartwarming, empathic energy that elevates it above many of the rest.

This FREE outdoor screening will be at Curtis Hixon Park, 600 N. Ashley Drive, as part of the Tampa Downtown Partnership’s Winter Village event. Concessions will be available and the Shops at Winter Village will be open; picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are encouraged!
